Product Care
Leather Belts
Our belts are made of the best quality cowhide, specifically 4mm thick greased leather. The tanning we use is of vegetable origin extracted from the bark of quebracho trees, making it a product that is durable for everyday use and stands the test of time. Quebracho is a type of tree native to South America, renowned for its exceptionally hard and dense wood. Its natural properties ensure that leather treated with quebracho is not only robust but also develops a unique patina over time.
To ensure your leather item remains in pristine condition, please follow these care instructions:
- Keep Dry: Protect from moisture. If it gets wet, gently blot with a soft cloth and let it air dry.
- Condition Often: Apply a leather conditioner every few months to keep it supple and prevent cracking.
- Store Properly: Hang from buckle, store flat or roll up (not too tight), away from direct sunlight and heat to avoid damage.
- Clean Gently: Use a dry or lightly damp cloth to clean. Avoid strong chemicals.
Waxed thread
Our accessories use waxed thread for their decoration due to its strength and longevity given that is a durable and water-resistant material. The wax coating helps protect the thread from wearing out and enhances its resistance to moisture.
To ensure that the waxed thread lasts long, you can follow these instructions:
- Avoid Excessive Heat: Keep your item away from direct heat sources, as high temperatures can cause the wax to melt or deteriorate.
- Clean Gently: If the thread becomes dirty, gently wipe it with a damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Preserve the Wax: Over time, the wax may wear off slightly. You can refresh it by lightly rubbing the thread with a small amount of beeswax.
Buckles
Most of our buckles are crafted from brass, though some models feature stainless steel buckles. To keep them in top condition, please follow these care instructions:
- Avoid Moisture: Keep buckles dry to prevent tarnishing or rusting.
- Polish Regularly: Use a metal-specific polish or a soft cloth to remove smudges and restore the luster.
- Handle with Care: Avoid dropping or banging the buckle against hard surfaces, as this can cause dents or scratches.
- Store Properly: When not in use, store belts with buckles in a dry place, preferably in the pouch provided to prevent scratches and tarnish.
Leather Bags
To ensure your leather bag will ages beautifully and remains a timeless accessory for years to come, you can follow these tips:
- Keep It Dry: Avoid exposing your bag to excessive moisture. If it gets wet, gently blot the leather with a soft cloth and allow it to air dry naturally, away from direct heat sources.
- Condition Regularly: Apply a leather conditioner every few months to keep the leather soft, supple, and hydrated. This helps prevent cracking and preserves the bag's natural oils.
- Clean Gently: Use a dry or slightly damp cloth to wipe away dust and dirt. For deeper cleaning, use a leather-specific cleaner. Avoid using harsh chemicals or soaking the leather.
- Protect from Sunlight: Store your bag away from direct sunlight, which can cause fading and drying. If not in use, keep it in a dust bag or a breathable fabric cover to protect it from dust and scratches.
- Avoid Overloading: Avoid overstuffing your bag, as this can stretch and deform the leather, especially at the handles and straps.
- Store Properly: When not in use, store your leather bag in a cool, dry place. Stuff the bag with tissue paper or a soft cloth to help it retain its shape and prevent creases.
